EDUCATIONAL GIFT

Acuna has over 66 factories; 6 of which belong to Alcoa. A group of supervisors and workers from Alcoa came to the New Fountain of Life. They presented to our house father Gerson Chavez, a check for three thousand dollars to purchase computers, and related equipment. This contribution will help a great deal with the children's education.

Tom Sutherland, one of our board members, was able to purchase computers and a projector at a reduced price. One room of our office has been turned into a computer room. Gerson and his wife Lucy will continue to teach the children. A big thanks to all at Alcoa.

Our Faithful Regulars

Once again, First Baptist Church from Clifton Texas came to witness to the youth at our homes. They also reached out to the neighborhood children, and had them participate with the programs.

Steven Payne (youth director) and his youth group performed skits with puppets. They also shared crafts, with a Christian theme, with all the children.

The children were also treated to
juice and cookies.
It was a wonderful
sight to see all the
children sharing
in this memorable
experience.

In April, our "New Fountain of Life" soccer team entered a tournament in a nearby town. "That's right", we have our own soccer team. Twelve teams were entered in the tournament. The games were to be played over a three day period. Our team is composed of our older boys, house fathers, and helpers. They were so thrilled when they were presented with the winning trophy, and so were we.
We thank those who sent funds for their uniforms and equipment. We will keep you posted on the teams future tournaments.

All In a Day's Work

There is an on going lice problem at New Fountain of life. The children are always bringing the pesty visitors from school. Imagine having to shampoo 25 heads, wash 25 sets of bedding. Then there's the clothing and towels.
Just wanted to give you a little insight of goings on in a working orphanage. The house parents and staff also deal with educational time tables as well as the health and well being of every child. Then there's birthdays, baths, babies and boardrooms. There's lunches, laughter, and loving the lonely.

There is coughing, cooking, cleaning, and caring.
There is dressing, diapers, discipline and dreaming.
There's you and me with God's help making this all possible,
changing the lives of these neglected and abused innocent lives.

Mathew 18:2-5
And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven". "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me";

Chickens and Eggs

A chicken house is being built at the Ranch Home. This will allow us to have our own eggs and chickens. Walt Leihr and his wife Carol are in charge of this new project. This will give the boys another job that will contribute to the home. Feel free to participate with any ideas for projects for the home. Your participation

A Work In Progress

Our workshop is now being used to make frames and furniture. Some of our boys are learning this trade. We have been able to sell some, and hope to be able to increase our sales.     The frames that are made can be used for pictures and mirrors. They are very beautifully made with intricate carvings of swans, horses etc.

In scripture we have many people of great faith. Abraham was one of the greatest believers. Abraham and his wife were way to old to have children. Then God spoke to him and told him that he and his wife would have a son and innumerable descendants and even that one of his descendants would bless all nations. Of course, that one was Jesus Christ.

Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. That great truth comes over into the New Testament which says we are saved by faith (John 3:16) and we walk by faith and not by sight (II Cor 5:7).Obviously Abraham had days of doubt because when some time had gone by he tries to do God's will in the flesh. He slept with his servant girl and she became pregnant. This was surely not "walking by faith".

Thinking of Noah, surely he had moments of doubt when others laughed at this fool building a big boat far from any body of water. But both Abraham and Noah were said to have "believed God" and were righteous in God's sight because they had faith in God's promise in their daily walk with God.

They were human, and so are you and I. We have received the Lord Jesus as our Savior and Lord. We have believed the promise of the Holy Spirit. But we are human and there are moments when we listen to Satan's lies that nothing has changed. Remember dear saint, "if any one is in Christ he is a new creation!'

And friend, who is yet without a personal savior, I urge you to turn from your sins to the Lord Jesus Christ who loves you enough to die for you and this moment speaks to you by the Holy Spirit..
