Four Work Teams from
January 7th to February 18th!

Once again we have been blessed with 4 great work teams. The Lord also blessed us with beautiful weather. All 4 buildings at the "Acuna Home" were painted, with our new color scheme. A ceiling was put in over our new dorm, along with electricity. The "Acuna Home" had new electric lines run, which look so much better than lines going across our back area. The new outdoor stage at the "Ranch Home" was wired with receptacles, and prepared to accept new lighting. Two bathrooms were installed by the stage, so when "Revivals" are held, facilities will be available.

Much tiling was done in the new bathrooms, and the countertop in the kitchen at the Acuna home. A closet was built in the new dorm and storage area construction was started. All our present storage areas at both homes were worked on. Our plumbing finally got straightened out , thanks to Bill Moore, a retired plumber. I know I've missed some projects that were done, but we are so grateful for all who came, and all that support

God's Gain ... Our Loss

On December 2nd, Veletta (Peg) Davis was taken home to be with the Lord. Peg was secretary on the Board of Directors, and a vital part of this ministry. It came as a shock to us all, as we had been working together, preparing for Christmas. She was unable to have Thanksgiving dinner with us, and on Saturday her friend Loreta took her to the hospital. Peg was operated on Monday and passed away on Friday. She was buried with her husband Jim here in Del Rio.

We have been truly blessed to have had Peg part of this ministry. We thank God for placing her, and Jim in our lives.
It was a joy to hear the children at the home; upon hearing of her death, say, "she is with Jesus in Heaven".
"Be Seeing you Peg".

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.

Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ,
and to die is gain.

The following Churches came in January through February; Salvation Army Church from North Jersey, St. Pauls U. M. C. form Brick N.J., Chris Rumph's group from Fairhaven N.J. with one Lady from Fl., St Johns U.M.C. from N.J. with two volunteers from Mass., also two from Deerfield and last but not least, West Park U.M.C from N.J..
We had many new people come this year, so we made alot of new friends. We were also very happy to see old friends return. As individuals we can do some things, but as "The Body of Christ" we can do great things, to His glory. It is such a blessing to our children to see that there are so many Christian men and women who are willing to care for those less fortunate. This is such a great testimony to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ our Savior in both word and deed.
Praise The Lord !

Quilting Club

We are grateful for the quilts our girls received for Christmas. St. Marks U.M.C. in N.J. made these, and some other groups made quilts that were distributed at the old folks home. Thanks to all who participated.

Gerson Becomes Maestro

Our House father at the Acuna Home has now become our resident computer teacher.
He has been teaching the children basic computer skills, so they will be ahead when they get computer classes in secondary school. Education is a primary concern for all our children.

Our Christmas Gift Program was once more a success. We sure missed Peg, but our girls at the home pitched right in to help Jean Neild, who runs the program.

Once more , Jean and Leo came for the month of December to put this all together. They also shipped many boxes of toys prior to their arrival. We are so grateful to the Neilds.

We are also so grateful for all of you who send gifts for this Project.
A special thanks to Madeline Sanford, who sends all of those boxes of gift stuffers. It was good to see our kids helping, so others might have a Christmas..
On December 24th we went into the villages to hand out the gifts. Our boys assisted in this project and it was so good to see all the smiling faces on the givers and the receivers. We also gave to many Churches and other Homes.
A total of 2,500 gifts were handed out, and we praise the Lord for the many blessings everyone received. Christmas day was spent at the home with the Children. We also gave out gifts to the neighborhood children. When all the giving was over, we once more knew, it is more blessed to give than receive.
We were truly blessed once again.
